Andy Firth Memorial Shoot 2020 Flyer
Our first shoot for 2021 will be on Sunday 7th February! We hope to see you all there for another year of archery!
Hunter Valley Traditional Archers (HVTA) is an archery club located in the Hunter Region of New South Wales, Australia. Hunter Valley Traditional Archers Inc. was formed in 1988. Utilizing only 250 acres, the club grounds are situated on approximately 450 acres of private property between Maitland & Newcastle.
HVTA is family oriented and dedicated to preserving traditional archery as a sport and a craft. The emphasis is on having fun and enjoying the company of others who share the love of the outdoors and a traditional bow.
Hunter Valley Traditional Archers promotes the care and respect of the rights of fellow club members and visitors, mature and responsible conduct as well as the safe and correct use of all equipment and club facilities. Our club only uses Traditional Bows i.e.: Longbow, Recurve and Selfbows. The club offers hire equipment at each shoot (excluding major events).
We have a regular shoot every second Sunday. Please check out our calendar for dates. Our targets are 3D realistic lifelike animals. Each year we have two major events. The Gathering held on the Queens Birthday long weekend in June attracts over 150 participants and visitors each year and our Charity (The Andrew Spiechowicz Memorial ) Shoot, October Long Weekend with over 100 participants and visitors.
We welcome people of all ages and walks of life. All children under the age of 16 MUST be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times.
Our club is also accessible to people who are mobility challenged. For more details contact us.
If you’re keen to give traditional archery a go or just see what all the fun is about, drop by during a shoot or contact us. We’d love to see you at our range and will gladly show you the ropes.
# Please Note Compound Bows & all mechanical devices are not permitted in our club.
